Shelf Candy Saturday (6)

Shelf Candy Saturday is an awesome weekly meme hosted by Five Alarm Book Reviews where each Saturday bloggers defy the saying "never judge a book by its cover" and showcase one that really catches their eye. Covers play a huge role in the books I choose so it's great to have the opportunity to showcase the pretties :)

My shelf candy for this week is Small Town Christmas by Debbie Macomber.

PROMISE, TEXAS, is a good place to live with the person you love. When rancher Cal Patterson and his wife, Jane—better known as Dr. Texas—face a threat to their marriage, she leaves Promise, the town that's become her home as much as his. Will Jane be back by Christmas? Because, for both of them, the greatest gift of all would be her Return to Promise.

GOLD RIVER, ALASKA, isn't your average town. After being jilted by her fiancĂ©, Caroline Myers ends up there—thanks to her matchmaking aunts, who send her on what appears to be an autumn vacation. Not surprisingly, they have something different in mind. Something that involves spending a snowy Christmas in handsome Paul Trevor's home—as his Mail-Order Bride.

So December is Christmas books month here at Project to be Read and I've picked the gorgeous Small Town Christmas. This cover really captures Christmas for me - the big beautifully decorated tree, the gorgeous mountain background, the shiny gold writing. It just screams festive to me.

I also love the more pastel colours used - pinks and purples to accent the more traditional red, gold and green. It gives the book a contemporary feel which definitely makes it stand out amongst the other Christmas books I own.

Plus there is snow everywhere - snow capped mountains, snow falling and snow drifts in the foreground. Snow is my favourite part of winter so any book with it used so liberally on the cover is always going to catch my eye!

So what's your shelf candy this week?
